We have Howard the Genie and all these ways of getting in touch and keeping in touch, of asking questions and getting answers, and of reaching out to ask for help, and reaching again to offer help. It's two-way, this communication thing! Let's make it work like that!

Ask Howard is a featured module of the HCGS website and one that Howard the Genie is rather proud of! The "old timers" will recognize it as the "Query Desk". We younger folk and newbies to Genealogy will likely come to appreciate its versatility. If a member (that'd be you!) posts a genealogical question to Howard, it is routed to the right person - researcher, webmaster, Member Services team leader.

Contact is an email solution that allows you to send a message to the system administrator if you don't know who should get the email or you just want to make sure it gets in the mailbox!

Yep, these are the same links as on the menu - one for the General Membership Meetings and one for the Board Meetings. These links are the SAME for each month. On the occasional month where there is a special link or we are teaming with another society like Anne Arundel - we do that sometimes - we will also post that link on the links page in an easily findable, easily usable link! Promise!

Yes, our society has a facebook group page. It's actually pretty active, although many users come from outside our group. The good thing is, they are all potential new members! There is a lot of public-facing information out there to be had! Try it!
Discord Group Chat - NEW! Come Visit in a Group Chat Setting
Group Chat! That's the phrase to remember. As we move headlong into this, the 21st Century, we now have available to us a Group Chat - many people talking at once - like your family at Thanksgiving!, except, unlike the family, you can understand all of them by reading their text messages.
Email - Plain Old Email!
Yep. Plain old email. If you know the email address, you can just send an email. Oh, sure, it's better to go thorough one of these systems first because they are checked more often. And we use it internally. of course, to send you blast emails, personal emails, and more. Is your profile and the email inside it all up to date?
