There are a number of educational opportunities offered in the Howard County area on a regular basis. Some are offered in conjunction with the Howard County Library, the system of Howard County Senior Centers, Howard Community College, the Library of Congress, the National Archives, as well as the many close by county's genealogical societies and historical societies. We encourage all to look at furthering their exposure to what others are doing, sources they have located, and how to improve your own research skills.
Classes
The Howard County Community College offers several genealogy and family history related courses as Noncredit Classes in the Spring and Fall. They are offered as part of the History and Culture area within the Lifestyle and Leisure section. For a current listing of family history based training scheduled see

Help
The Howard County Genealogical Society will be hosting a free help desk on the third Saturday of every month at the Howard County Historical Society Archive and Research Library located on the second floor of the Miller Branch Library. This help desk is open to genealogical research in all areas of the United States, Europe and other countries. Anyone interested in genealogical research is invited to stop by and have experienced genealogists help you to "break down the brick wall" or get started on your family history.
